Greetings ~

If you grew up in the 1930s and 1940s, you have heard of the band leader, Glenn Miller. If not it's because you spent those two decades in a coma and I am sorry for that. Alton Glenn Miller was the rock star long before there were rock stars. He and his band, the Glenn Miller Orchestra played to packed houses all over the United States. Everywhere they went, the place was sold out.
They would go on to record many records, star in a few motion pictures and have a great concert career. Had Glenn Miller survived through the onset of television, I'm very sure they would have been a hit there as well.
At the height of his career, Miller joined the U.S. Army Air Corp. and asked to entertain the troops. The request was granted and he and his guys went on to draw huge crowds where ever they played.
On December 15, 1944 Glenn Miller boarded a plane to fly to his next concert but never arrived. While flying over the English Channel, something went terribly wrong and Miller and the others in the aircraft were never seen again. In most cases, the band would have broken up and gone on to join other orchestras but the Glenn Miller Band has continued to entertain the public from that point on through today. Members have died but have been replaced.
What happened to Miller's plane? Where is his remains today? There has been many speculations on this topic. Now it is believed the case has finally been solved. This blog looks into the life and death of the famous band leader. It's dedicated to Glenn Miller's memory, a memory that will never fade out, as long as his music plays on.
